Where did my little boy go???

Look at him all nerdy and ready for his first day of school.Walking away from his mommy. Forever and ever... Ya ya exaggerating.

Just seems so odd that the little man who has been with me at every moment is off to spend the days with strangers. What will I do with myself all day?Who will kiss his owies? Who will wipe his nose? Who will tell him to stop talking all dang day? Whew! Won't have to be me! See that little bit of blue blankie tied to his top button hole on the shirt. Just in case he needs a bit of lovin'.
The night before school I asked Alex what he was most excited about. He told me riding the school bus will be awesome. When I asked what makes him the most nervous he said, "I don't think nothin' " : )

That made me feel better about sending him off.

Alex will be going all day everyday to a charter school near us. Joe will be dropping him off at the bus stop in the mornings and I will pick him up around 4. Looong day.

I will be watching a little baby on Mondays and every other Friday. Volunteering at Alex's school for lunches on Wednesdays and stalking garage sales on Thursdays!

Super nice out so we headed to the indoor maze. Odd right? He had a great time though.

Tae Kwon Do

He really enjoys the class but doesn't want to keep doing it.

We want him to pick between hockey and taekwondo. Both are time consuming and expensive so we won't be doing both. Kid just loves hockey!

Aliens!

Alex finally made a decision on what to spend his Christmas gift certificate from The Blanks* on. An alien creation kit! Goes well with his need to create, destroy and make messes. He gets to make little rubber molds of aliens and then rip them apart! Auntie Lisa got him a refill kit too so we will be busy with grossness for awhile.

Minnesota Report

Alex's preschool has each of the kids do a small report in front of the class with their parents. The report should be something having to do with Minnesota. Alex chose between ice fishing, snowmobiling and hockey. Hockey was the winner and Daddy helped out! He came all dressed in his gear so he could show the kids what he all wears. Joe asked him some questions about hockey and Alex answered. Super cute!

I think the part that the kids liked the most was how Alex drinks water with that big helmet on. We had a demonstration.

Snow Tubing!

My Boys went snow tubing a few times this year!! They absolutely loved it! Daddy liked to go down on his stomach. Guess it was faster.
Alex got to the point where he would just head up the hill by himself and take off down without waiting for us.

I on the other hand hated it! Flying down the hill was fine but not having any control over the tube is not okay. I was so afraid of smashing into my child I just couldn't enjoy it.

The second time we went the Yeagers joined us!! Jackie and I watched for a bit and then sat in the warm "chalet". The boys all stayed out forever!!

Random Pictures

I bought some costumes at Target on clearance this past Fall. The boy is still into pirates!
Swimming! He just loves going to swimming lessons. This quarter we are going twice a week.

I think the boy was working on his fine motor skills. : )
